Over the past 26 years Sarah has worked in numerous full time vocational training establishments. Responsible for preparing students from all over the world for a professional career, either in the commercial world of dance, including ballet companies, or as a dance teacher.
In 1998 she joined Northern Ballet School as Head of the Teaching Diploma Course where Sarah still continues to work, teaching students on both the Classical Focus and Jazz Focus Course. Along with preparing students both male and female for the RAD vocational examinations up to Advanced 2 level, Sarah is also responsible for Year 2 and Year 3 of the Professional Dancers’ Trinity Qualification delivering modules in Choreography and Anatomy and overseeing the their personal studies.
Sarah also teaches at Elmhurst School for Dance in Birmingham where she is responsible for entering male students for RAD ballet examinations. Here she teaches from Year 7 (age 11) up to 6.3 (age19) graduating students, most of whom then go on to enter ballet companies.
Sarah has been an Examiner and Tutor for the RAD since 1995, in these roles she has travelled extensively on their behalf, conducting teachers’ and students courses on both training methods, current syllabi and most recently the introduction of the new work. Additionally Sarah has also taught various modules on the CBTS and CPD programmes as well as lecturing at courses and Summer Schools for both students and teachers all over the world. In 2011 Sarah became a Trustee of the RAD and sits on the Executive Board where she now contributes towards its governance.
