Dance Academy proudly present “The Snow Queen”. This will be held on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November 2017 at G.F. Abela Junior College, Msida. The story line of the ballet is centred around two friends Bella and Gerda. Students from Pre-Primary up to Advanced 2 will be interpreting the story that unfolds as follows.
There once lived a wicked wizard, who built a magic mirror. Anything that was beautiful or good was reflected in it as ugly and bad. One day, the mirror broke and all its pieces fell all over the earth. A few pieces scattered in a small town where two friends, Bella and Gerda lived. The shards of glass pierced Bella’s heart and from then on she became cold and cruel. The Snow Queen appears and invites Bella to follow her to the frozen kingdom. Gerda was puzzled and couldn’t understand why Bella followed the Snow Queen and decides to go and search for her. On meeting the seasonal fairies and in her quest to find Bella, she sets off on her journey.
It augurs to be an enjoyable evening with a variety of choreographic styles and music as well as stunning costumes.
